A
scandalous farce about celebrities in Hollywood, the
players include a brash, ambitious Hollywood agent who
can spin anyone and anything, a rising movie star and a
sexy male prostitute. A picture is worth more than a
thousand words in this town; it can make or break a
career. Do they look for an escape from the glass closet
of Hollywood or find a way to lock it from the inside?

Old Money. He has received the Outer Critics Circle Award, LA Times Critic’s Choice, Dramalogue Award, and several Drama Desk nominations. Beane’s also provided the script for
To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar. He is a founding member of Drama Dept. and member of the Dramatist Guild.

Bruce Roach (Director)
is
delighted to be back at the Unicorn where he appeared
earlier this season in the Lieutenant of Inishmore as
Kenneth Tynan in last season's Orson’s Shadow. Local
audiences may also know him from his recent appearances in
Much Ado About Nothing, King Henry V and Romeo and
Juliet at the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival and
To Kill a Mockingbird at the Kansas City Repertory
Theatre. Bruce's directing credits include the New York
Premiere of Virtuosa last September. The Little
Dog Laughed is his directing debut at the Unicorn. He
will return to the Unicorn stage later this season as Teddy
in Faith Healer. His work as an actor, director and
educator has taken him across the U.S. and abroad and he is
particularly happy to be back in Kansas City's diverse and
talented theatre community.

Donna Thomason (Diane)
is happy to be back at the Unicorn, where she was last seen
in Convenience. Prior to that Donna appeared in
The Sister’s Rosensweig, and received a Drama Desk
Award as Best Actress for her portrayal of Chloe in “Lips
Together, Teeth Apart.” In the past few years, Donna’s
attentions have turned, primarily, to directing and
producing. She recently directed Who’s Afraid of Virginia
Woolf? for Actors Theatre- KC and Stories My
Grandmother Told Me, Tuesday’s with Morrie and
Leaving Iowa for AHT. She is the Event Producer and
Creative Director…yes, two titles, one salary…. for Epic
Entertainment, a Starlight Theatre Company, where she
scripts and directs a myriad of corporate and not-for-profit
events both locally and in major cities across the U.S.
Donna and Epic have also earned 3 Telly Awards in just the
past year for original corporate video productions.
Donna also appeared in the Broadway productions of Annie,
Surprise! and Back on the Town. Previous local
stage appearances include Steel Magnolias (Drama Desk
Nomination/Best Actress) Grand Night for Singing

Sylvia at AHT, two productions of The Wizard
of Oz and Peter Pan at Starlight Theater; Kindergarten,
Comedy of Errors and four seasons of A Christmas
Carol at Missouri Rep; Lumberjacks in Love at The
New Theater; and Putting it Together at QHP. Donna
is married to Actor-Professor – Dr. Gary Holcombe…and they
have a spirited and spectacular 3 – year old…..(it’s a
dog…..Donna’s too old to have a 3 year old child) named
GUSSIE! “Thanks for supporting local theatre and I hope you
LOVE Diane as much as do I.”

Nathan Darrow (Mitchell)
returns to the Unicorn having appeared
previously in Iron Kisses, The Pillowman, Painted Alice,
The Retreat From Moscow and Bright Ideas.
Recently Nathan has played locally in To Kill A
Mockingbird (KC Rep), Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
(Actors Theatre of KC), and Romeo and Juliet
(Heart of America Shakespeare Festival). Nathan has also
worked at American Heartland Theater and New Theater,
Berkeley Rep, Madison Rep and the Roundabout. He attended
the University of Evansville and NYU where major influences
were Liviu Ciulei, Deborah Hecht and Yevgeny Arye.

Michelangelo Milano (Alex)
is thrilled to be working with Unicorn Theatre for
the first time. He has studied at the American Musical and
Dramatic Academy, Columbia College Chicago, and the School
at Steppenwolf. His most recent productions include: A
View From the Bridge, 20 Love Poems & 20 Songs,
Orange Lemon Egg Canary, Discovery Channel,
Elegy for Julian Grace, and had the pleasure of
being a part of 365 Plays/365 Days.

Rachel May Roberts (Ellen),
from Cape
Girardeau, MO, is a relatively recent import to the Kansas
City area. She is honored to be making her Unicorn debut in

City she has been seen on the Coterie's stage for the Young
Playwrights Festival and The Country of the Blind; in
the world premire of Carvings; and more. Other
