ZINA CAMBLIN recently completed a year-long residency at The Juilliard School under Marsha Norman and Christopher Durang, as a part of the Juilliard Playwrighting Fellowship.  While at Juilliard, she has received the Lecomte du Nouy Prize for playwrighting.  Her play, And Her Hair Went With Her, was selected as part of Lincoln Centers Directors Lab play reading series and enjoyed a successful reading as a part of the Lab.  In addition, And Her Hair Went With Her enjoyed successful readings at The Culture Project, the Tribeca Theater Festival, and most recently as part of New Jersey Repertory Theater’s Script in Hand Series. The play was at the Phoenix Theater in Indianapolis in April 2007 and will be at to the New Jersey Repertory Company, Horizon Theater in Atlanta, and the Bailiwick Theater in Chicago. Past productions and workshops of her other work include: Memoirs to Live/ Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Bedroom Stories/ Jon Sims Center for the Performing Arts, in San Francisco, Life’s a Drag/ UC San Diego, and Bunni and Clyde/Know Theater. As a consultant for NYU’s Creative Arts Team, she helped to create several interactive theatre scripts for young audiences.  As an assistant writer, she contributed to The Jonestown Project, a commission by Berkeley Repertory Theater.  Zina is a native of Cincinnati and received her MFA in Acting from UC San Diego where she was also a recipient of a San Diego Playbill Award.  As an African American playwright she is committed to creating unique and strong voices for women of color.

JACQUELINE L. GAFFORD (DIRECTOR) is happy to be working at the Unicorn once again.  Her work was last seen on this stage as director of The Women of Brewster Place. Over the years Jacqee has acted and directed numerous Unicorn productions. Favorite acting roles include Miz Leah in Flyin' West and Bessie in Having Our Say. When not working at the Unicorn, Jacqee is Producing Artistic Director of InPlay Theatre Company.

NEDRA DIXON (JASMINE) is delighted to continue her growing affiliation with the Unicorn Theatre in this production of And Her Hair Went With Her!  She stood at the helm as director/choreographer of the Unicorn's recent staging of the award-winning musical, Grey Gardens.  And audiences may remember seeing her here in both The Women of Brewster Place and bare.  Nedra's rich and diverse theatrical career includes performing, directing, choreography, concert and cabaret work in venues from Broadway and Off-Broadway to stock and regional productions, naming just a few:  Bubblin’ Brown Sugar, Tintypes, Hair, Once On This Island, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Kiss Me Kate, Into The Woods, Jesus Christ Superstar, Children of Eden, Anything Goes, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Honk, Having Out Say, Beehive and Songs For a New World.  Currently, she is featured weekly as a vocalist/host on Kansas City's hot, new radio show, 12 O'CLOCK JUMP, a jazz, blues and comedy hour, broadcast LIVE on NPR affiliate, KCUR (89.3 FM), from the Mutual Musicians Foundation in the Historic 18th and Vine Jazz District.  Nedra's (or Nikki, as her friends know her!) theatre life has been filled with unforgettable, artistic moments shared with so many precious and gifted and stellar friends, however, the most brilliant nova in her universe is her beautiful daughter, Jasmin.

TEISHA M. BANKSTON (ANGIE) has been a performer in the art of theatre, film, and dance in Kansas City since she was about 11 years old. Since then, Teisha has been a professional dancer for Neil Young at Starlight; Beneatha in A Raisin in the Sun with InPlay Theatre; in roles for Theatre For Young America including performing in Africa's Daughters and Toughest Kid in the World, for the UMKC theatre department and graduate theatre department including in Reckless as Pooty (for which she was an Irene Ryan Nominee), Lesly in House of Yes, ensemble in Meanwhile, Irene/Isabel in American Clock, Diana in Darker Face of the Earth, and Cassandra in Trojan Women. Teisha has understudied for the Kansas City Repertory Theatre’s A Young Lady from Rwanda and Jitney.  She is a DAEP member of the Coterie where she performed as Nyasha in Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters and as Pokie in A Star Ain't Nothin' But a Hole in Heaven. Teisha holds a BFA in Theatre Performance and a minor in Spanish from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  Teisha would like to thank Dad, Mom, Armando, and the rest of her beautiful family for their love and support; Cynthia and Jacqee for the opportunity to tell this story!
